Dental Sealants
If a child is going to get a cavity, it will most likely be in one of their molars, or back teeth. These can be difficult for little hands to clean given their wide and craggy chewing surfaces. However, a sealant can be placed over these vulnerable teeth. A clear resin is applied that acts like a shield against plaque and food particles, providing an invisible barrier against decay.
Pulp Treatment
Does your child have a toothache? They could have a dental infection that has reached the sensitive interior tissue of the tooth, which is called the pulp. Pulp treatment enables us to remove the source of the discomfort, quickly stop the pain, and save the tooth. This is a much more conservative (and affordable) approach versus just removing the tooth!
Space Maintainers
The baby teeth serve many purposes, one of them being they act as placeholders for the adult teeth to help them come in straight. When a baby tooth is lost too early, this can allow the remaining teeth on either side of the gap to shift and block the erupting tooth. But, a space maintainer is a small appliance that can prevent this from happening, helping a child avoid more involved orthodontic care down the road.
