Veneers

Veneers can make stains, chips, cracks, gaps, and even mild crookedness go away in just two appointments. Thin, custom-made shells of porcelain are bonded to the front of the teeth, personalized to have the ideal shade, shape, and size. The material is stain-resistant, and you can trust the result to easily last for 15-20 years before needing a touch-up.

Metal-Free Restorations

Today’s dental crowns and fillings can do much more than simply repair broken or decayed teeth. We can also use them to enhance oddly shaped or undersized enamel to create a more balanced and symmetrical smile. And because the materials we use are metal-free, that means they are also mercury-free, giving you peace of mind at the same time.

Cosmetic Bonding

Do you always focus on that small chip, stain, or gap whenever you see yourself in the mirror or a picture? In as little as an hour, we can apply a color-matched composite to your imperfect tooth and sculpt it to look like nothing was ever wrong with it.

Teeth Whitening

If you want a dramatically whiter smile as fast as possible, we can make your teeth six to eight shades brighter with our in-office treatment. It’s perfect if you have a big event (are those wedding bells?) just around the corner. Or, if you’re not in a rush, we can send you home with a kit that includes custom-made mouth trays and a bleaching gel several times stronger than anything you’ll find in stores. Our take-home treatment actually costs less than over-the-counter options because you’d have to buy four to five generic kits to enjoy the same result!

Veneer FAQs

Can Veneers Fix Crooked Teeth?

If you’ve heard veneers referred to as “instant orthodontics,” you might be wondering if they can fix crooked teeth. While they can’t move your teeth, they can quickly conceal certain types of misalignment, including teeth that are slightly rotated out of position. The easiest way to find out if this is the best cosmetic dental treatment for you is by scheduling a consultation at our Frisco dental office!

Are Veneers Permanent?

Veneers are long-lasting, but they aren’t permanent. The misconception that they are often stems from the fact that the procedure is irreversible. As a result, your teeth will always need to be covered with veneers or dental crowns moving forward.

Is There Anything I Can’t Eat with Veneers?

Like your natural teeth, your veneers aren’t indestructible. That’s why we recommend avoiding certain foods, like raw almonds, hard candies, and peanut brittle. Sticky snacks, like caramel and taffy, can also shorten their lifespan, so it’s a good idea to eliminate them from your diet as well. To put it simply, you should focus on filling your plate with foods that are packed with nutrients, softer in consistency, and benefit your oral health, like oatmeal, plain yogurt, and cottage cheese.

Will I Still Be Able to Drink Coffee with Veneers?

You will! Just make sure that you use a straw to help prevent discoloration from arising. If you can, rinse your mouth with clean water when you’re done and, about 20 minutes later, brush your teeth too. Habits like these may seem inconsequential, but they can make a big difference when it comes to maintaining your bright, beautiful smile.

How Many Veneers Will I Need?

That depends entirely on the dental imperfections you’d like to address and how subtle or dramatic you want the final result to be. For example, if you are looking to subtly improve your smile by fixing a noticeable chip, you may only need one veneer. If, on the other hand, you want to address stains and gaps on all of the teeth that show when you smile, we may recommend 10 or 12.

Is There Anyone Who Shouldn’t Get Veneers?

Although veneers are suitable for a wide range of patients, there are some cases where we don’t recommend them. For instance, veneers are not recommended for patients with Bruxism because chronic teeth grinding and clenching have been linked to a higher risk of debonding. That’s why the initial consultation is so important! At your visit, our cosmetic dentist will review your dental history, conduct a comprehensive oral exam, and determine if veneers are the best smile-enhancing treatment for you.
